11/7/11 - Team Big Pissed Mullet's 2011 Season finished with a bang at the IFA Chmapionship in Chalmette, LA. We got to pre-fish for two days befoe the tournament. We spent one day in Venice and one day in Delacriox. Both days of pre-fishing were very tough for us and we only caught and saw a few fish. Our fished had moved out of our spot from the weekend before in Venice and we only caught a feww good fish in Delacriox. With a front coming through on THursday night the outlook was grim. The decision was made to make a run to Delacriox on the first day of the tournament. It turned out to be a good one. We stayed in the main channels fishing points with Berkly Gulp under a cork bringing in 16.74 lbs by 9:15am. The second day was a little tougher pounding the same bank bringing in 15.9 lbs. We ended the tourney with 32.64 lbs which is an average of over 16 lbs per day! That put us in 17th place overall, which is our highest finish in the IFA Championship.
8/27/11 - IFA Grand Isle - We went to check on our fish Friday and boy they were still there from last weekend. We were very excited to say the least. Unfortunately, we had a strong North wind on tournament day and when we got there our pond was muddy. We could not see a thing so we blind fished all day because we did not have anything else in the area. We finished 32nd.
8/20/11 - LA Saltwater Series Fourchon - We decided to stay close and run to lower Lafite area while most of the other competors ran over to venice. It turned out to be a good decidion as we finished 3rd place and 2nd for TOY.
7/29/11 - Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo - 1st Place Redfish Stringer. We had a little under 34 lbs with tough conditions on thursday and friday. Water was extremely high and rain. We stuck around the Lafite area as we were scouting for the LA Saltwater Series later this month as well.Quotation Source
4/16/11 - CCA Redfish Challenge - Well as usual a screwy front blows through the night before the tournament. Not only could we not get in our A spot because of low water, we could not get in our B, C, and D spots. LOL. It was a tough day to say the least, getting stuck numerous times having to get out and push. To put the nail in the coffin, on the way back we ran into another tournament angler that had knocked his lower unit off. We followed him back to the dock hobbling in and did not weigh our catch. Come to find out we would have finished 22nd and cut a check to pay for gas, but these guys woudl have done it for us.
4/9/11 - IFA Lafite - WOW, what a day of fishing and not catching. Fish moved out and we were determined to catch 2 fish in this pond. We had two studs pull the hook at the boat and knew that was going to be our only chance of finish decent in the tournament. It has been awhile since we had bad luck like this, but it is a long season. We finished a disappointing 58th.
4/2/11 - Team Big Pissed Mullet finished in 13th out of 47 boats with 13.83 lbs for the 2011 season opener for the LA Saltwater Series event in Lafite. It was a beautiful day for fishing with plenty of sunshine and reds. We missed two good fish that may have put us in the money, but that is what happens sometimes. At the end of the day the fish really turned on and it was ashame we had to go back for weigh in.
3/12/11 - Team BPM is proud to announce its sponsorship from Rejuvenade for 2011. Special thanks to Joey Couvillion at Outdoor Speciality Products. We look forward to working with you for 2011.
11/6/10 - IFA Championship - We blew a lower unit on the first morning of the Championship on my brand new Yamaha Vmax SHO. I was so disgusted it made me sick, especially becuse we were fishing right next to the team that eventually won the tournament. The Yamaha Tech slapped a new lower unit on and we were good to go, but it really did not do us any good. Sucks have to end the year on that, but it keeps you coming back for more.
10/9/10 - LA Saltwater Championship - We finished 2nd for the LA Saltwater Series Championship and missed first place by 7 hundreths of an ounce!!!. We caught some monster fish. We had one red that was barely 25 inches and went 8.6 lbs. The fish in Venice are FAT and plentiful.
